Georgia’s Your State Parks Clean-up Day

I’ve been away for a while, but I haven’t been lolly-gaging around, I’ve been busy, busy, busy. After starting my job with Lifetouch School Photography, it took me a while to get back to my own stuff.  Here’s what’s been going on:

The following images were taken during Georgia’s Your State Parks Clean-up Day 2014. Sweetwater Creek State Park is located just west of Atlanta in Lithia Springs, GA. The park hosts 9 miles of trails for all fitness levels. Bring the dogs and the kids. Upcoming events include guided kayakk tours, hiking with dogs, and photography classes.

Great little park west of Atlanta, GA. Hiking, kayaking, and fishing, just a few of the activities available here.

Interesting tree at the beginning of the RED trail. You never know what plants will do to adapt to their environment. I don’t know what caused this tree to form in the shape of a snake.

Bring your own kayak or rent one of these from the Bait Shop.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Reflection

I’ve been working on improving my photography skills, so when I saw this week’s photo challenge, I thought it would be a perfect time to share these updates. Your replys are appreciated. Also, these photos are available for purchase here.

Both pictures were taken at Okefenokee Swamp, in Georgia.

Taken around midnight using a flashlight to highlight the remains of a tree after the 20011 swamp fire.

2013: A Photo Essay

Happy New Year! It’s time to look back at the year that was 2013.

Excited to be able to complete my first 5k, especially with my running partner.

Excited to be able to complete my first 5k, especially with my running partner.

The beginning of a new tradition! In January, I completed my very first 5k. My younger daughter was along for the fun. Looking forward to making this an annual event.

February and March are a blur, can’t really remember anything except for work and sleep. There were birthdays of family and friends, but apparently no pictures were taken. This year, the goal is to document every day with at least one picture.
